Mitchel J. Doktycz is a Distinguished Staff Scientist and Leader of the Biological and Nanoscale Systems Group in the Biosciences Division at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He received his B.S. in Biology and Chemistry in 1985 and Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1991 from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research interests focus at the intersection of biological and nanoscale systems. His laboratory is involved in the development of analytical technologies for post-genomics studies with specific emphases on molecular and cellular imaging techniques and the use of nanomaterials to study and mimic biological systems.
