Energy Valley Toastmasters Club Award
Dr. Dong Xu was awarded the "Best Speaker of the Year"
award by the Energy Valley Toastmasters Club #3753 at the June 2001
meeting. Dr. Xu is a staff member in the Computational Biology
Section of the Life Sciences Division.
Energy Valley Toastmasters Club #3753 is comprised of UT- Battelle, BWXT Y-12
, and Bechtel Jacobs employees who meet on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30
p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at 1060 Commerce Park. (Information about the Club can

Toastmasters International provides the tools that enable people
to develop their ability to speak and effectively communicate. In
Toastmasters, you learn by doing; by actually speaking to groups.
The Toastmasters program has proven itself around the world.
Globally, nearly three million people of all ages and occupations
have participated in the program. On average, the gross membership of
Toastmasters International increases at a rate of approximately 250
people per day, for a total of more than 170,000 members in more than
8,000 Clubs in more than 50 countries."
