Dosimetry Research staff publish NCRP document on model uncertainties (July 1998)

Scientific Committee 57-16 of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) has published NCRP Commentary 15 titled "Evaluating the Reliability of Biokinetic and Dosimetric Models and Parameters Used to Assess Individual Doses for Risk Assessment Purposes." Drs. Keith Eckerman and Richard Leggett of the Assessment Technology Section’s Dosimetry Research Group were members of Committee 57-16 and authors of this major document. The objective of NCRP Commentary 15 is to provide a quantitative evaluation of the reliability and uncertainties of models used to convert estimates of exposure to dose for human health risk assessments associated with environmental applications. Drs. Eckerman and Leggett both serve on several national and international committees concerned with dosimetric modeling and computation for radiological and non-radiological pollutants.
