Biosensing for Physiological Parameters (May 1998)

The Mammalian Genetics and Development Section of the Life Sciences Division is teaming with the ORNL Instrumentation and Controls Division to develop a reusable subdermal sensor that will record and transmit data on heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, and round-the-clock activity level while electronically identifying the mouse being monitored. A prototype device is undergoing testing and evaluation. This device will replace several manual phenotype testing protocols now in use, improving both our throughput and our data collection.
