ATS Staff Member Appointed to ICRP Committee (March 1999)

Dr. Richard Leggett, a senior research staff member in the Dosimetry Research Group of the Life Sciences Division’s Assessment Technology Section, has been appointed to the International Commission on Radiation Protection’s (ICRP) Task Group on the Human Alimentary Tract (HAT). This task group is developing a new model for the gastrointestinal tract for use in computational radiation protection applications. During the week of February 22-26, Dr. Leggett attended a HAT Task Group meeting in Tours, France. He is also a member of ICRP Task Groups on Internal Dosimetry and the Reference Man, and is a corresponding member of the ICRP Task Group on DOSE Calculations. (Contact: R. W.
