New Environmental and Life Sciences Laboratory Groundbreaking (October 1999)

Groundbreaking ceremonies were conducted on October 20, 1999, for a new $2.7 million Environmental and Life Sciences Laboratory. This ten-laboratory facility will be used to conduct state-of-the-art research in molecular biology in support of the functional genomics research conducted at ORNL. The facility will be co-located to a new $13.4 million animal facility that is planned for construction in FY 2001.
